IMD Puts Kerala's 5 Districts On Red Alert As Thunderstorms Continue
The IMD has issued a red alert in five northern districts of Kerala - Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod. The development came after continuous strong winds resulted in cracks on the Valiyathura, the oldest sea bridge. IMD warned the people to be vigilant as water is rising in rivers Meenachil, Achankovil, and Manimala. Proactively, the authorities have also shifted people to relief camps after several houses were damaged.
