Karnataka Reports Its First South African Variant COVID-19 Case
South Africa variant 501.V2 of the COVID-19 has now been reported in Karnataka on March 10. Reportedly, the 58-year-old patient, who traveled from Dubai to Bengaluru on February 22. is now under quarantine along with his 8 contacts. Health Commissioner Dr Trilok Chandra said the patient and his contacts are from Shivamogga and all of them are asymptomatic. West Bengal, Surat (Gujarat), and Maharashtra have also reported COVID-19 patients with the South Africa variant.
