One in Five Students Take Private Tuitions: NSO Report

A National Statistical Organisation (NSO) survey reported one in five students take private coaching alongside school; the purpose behind, being better prepared for boards and entrance tests. Also, students from cities and upper castes have better access to private coaching. Reportedly, coaching fees are 20% of the total education costs for secondary and high-secondary education. Some eastern states spend more on coaching than anywhere else in India, the report suggested.
