Political Parties In West Bengal Preparing For 2021 Assembly Elections

Ahead of the 2021 Assembly Polls in Bengal, the BJP targeting the Southern area of the state has started a 'door-to-door campaign'. The Mahila Morcha including the party workers on December 8 reached out to every household in South Kolkata with pamphlets mentioning all the reforms made by the Narendra Modi government. According to a BJP women frontline worker, the ruling party is not allowing the opposition to reach out to people and hence knocking every door. However, a few days ago TMC workers distributed gifts to every patient recovered from COVID-19. "This is the first time that we are seeing such enthusiasm from the MLA of our area," said Bhavesh Shah, a local resident of Tollygunj area in Kolkata. "We received a basket full of fruits and a card from the MLA Aroop Biswas," he added. Both the parties are trying to make use of the pandemic situation ahead of election in the state.
