Amid the ongoing economic and political crisis in Sri Lanka, the island nation's former public administration minister Dinesh Gunawardena will be appointed as the new Prime Minister, reported Reuters. Meanwhile, six-time PM Ranil Wickremesinghe took oath as the president of Sri Lanka, on July 21. Notably, Gunawardena and Wickremesinghe were schoolmates. Sri Lanka is witnessing its worst political crisis in history, with the people having ousted Rajapaksa family from power.
