Turkmenistan President Honors His Favorite Dog Breed With A Golden Statue
A six-metre tall golden statue of a Alabai dog was unveiled in Turkmenistan's capital Ashgabat. The dogs of Alabai breed are favourite of the country's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who himself unveiled the statue. The canine is a part of the country's heritage while the statue reflects the dignity and assuredness of the shepherd dog. The structure built by architect Sargat Babayev, is the only animal sculpture honored in Turkmenistan after the Akhal-Teke horse.
