World's Only Male White Giraffe Gets GPS Tracker To Detect Poachers
The world's only known white giraffe has been fitted with a GPS tracker to protect it from poachers. The albino male giraffe lives in the Ishaqbini Community Conservancy in Kenya. The action was taken after poachers killed a white female giraffe and her calf in March 2020. The GPS tracker which has been attached to the giraffe's ossicones will send an hourly updates of the real-time information to the rangers.
