Kerala Nipah Virus Alert: 39-Year-Old Tests Positive, Cases Tally At 6
A 39-year-old man in Kerala's Kozhikode district, who had sought treatment at a private hospital where Nipah virus affected were treated for other ailments earlier, has tested positive for the virus, taking the total known Nipah infections in the southern state to six. The zoonotic virus, transmitted between species from animals to humans, has already killed two people in Kerala. The Kerala Government has issued advisory for people.

Bollywood Actor Rio Kapadia Passes Away At 66 Due To Cancer, Industry Expresses Condolences
Rio Kapadia, known for his roles in movies like "Chak De India," Happy New Year and Dil Chahta Hai, passed away on September 14. The Bollywood actor was 66 and died due to cancer, confirmed sources. He is survived by his wife Maria and daughter Farah. A close friend of Kapadia issued an official statement informing the demise of Kapadia. His last rites are scheduled on September 15.

Nipah Virus Alert! 24 Year Old Tests Positive Increasing Risk In Kozhikode
A 24-year-old health worker who came into close contact with Nipah patient tested positive, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to five. Despite the alert and containment zone announcement, at least 700 people came in contact with a 24-year-old, increasing the risk. Out of these 700, about 77 are in the high-risk category, Kerala health minister Veena George said. Meanwhile, people are advised to be cautious.

Polio Problem As Sanofi Announces To Discontinue Manufacture Of Vaccine
Beginning, in March 2024, pharma major Sanofi India will discontinue the manufacture of polio vaccine ShanIPV. The announcement was made in a public notice. Observers said this could create havoc as Sanofi is one of the largest suppliers of ShanIPV. Sangli District: 160 Students Suffer Food Poisoning After Eating At School
In shocking news, more than 160 students of a Maharashtra government-aided residential school were admitted to a hospital for suspected food poisoning. The official confirmed the news on August 28, and was reported from Sangli district. IndiGo Mumbai-Ranchi Made Emergency Landing As Flyer On Board Vomited Blood
In an IndiGo flight, a flyer vomited blood on board a Mumbai-Ranchi flight, after which the IndiGo flight made an emergency landing in Nagpur. The 62-year passenger, who was suffering from chronic kidney disease and tuberculosis, died before he could be taken to a hospital. "IndiGo flight 6E 5093, operating from Mumbai to Ranchi was diverted to Nagpur due to a medical emergency on board," said IndiGo in a statement.
