Amazon's One-Day Delivery Goal Hampered By Labor Shortage Due To COVID Pandemic

Amazon Inc's aim to make one-day delivery common for Prime members has been hindered by labor shortages, delaying the company's quest to entrench its e-commerce leadership and driving up prices ahead of the crucial Holiday season. During the fourth quarter, Amazon expects to spend an extra $4 billion on wages and related costs. Hiring warehouse employees and drivers have been difficult due to pandemic-related shortages.

Blue Origin Set To Build 'Commercial Space Business Park'

Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos unveiled plans to develop a commercial space station in the name of "Orbital Reef", collaborating with Boing, which will be used as a business park, opening new markets in space. The venture will be seen partnering with America's Private defence contractors Sierra Nevada Corp, and Arizona University. Notably, Blue Origin completed its first space tourism flight in July, sitting Bezos and three others.

RIL Extends Deadline To Complete 'Future' Buyout

Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) has officially extended its deadline by 6 months to figure out the nitty gritties of its ₹24,713 crore deal with Future Group. In August 2020, RRVL committed that it would buy out all retail and wholesale business, and the logistics and warehousing business in due time before September 2021. However, due to the future group's ongoing case with Amazon, the deadline has been pushed to March 2022.
