In a shocking incident, the electricity department rescued a 10-year-old girl, in Maharashtra's Nagpur, after being locked inside a bathroom for five days. The owner of the house held the maid captive and burnt her private parts, said police. The accused has been identified as Taha Arman Istiaq Khan was arrested, but wife Hina and brother-in-law, identified Azhar fled. Police have been deployed to nab the two.

In a shocking incident, a man, residing in Bengaluru, was arrested for allegedly killing his live-in partner by hitting her head with a pressure cooker in the Begur area. The deceased has been identified as Deva (24), a native of Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram and the accused was identified as Vaishnav who is a native of Kollam, Kerala. The couple were living together and were having issues, said police probing the matter. 

The Goa police have arrested a man from Gujarat for allegedly raping a woman tourist at a resort in Assonora village of North Goa, confirmed an official. The incident took place on August 23, and based on the woman's complaint, the police arrested the 47-year-old accused, identified as Laxman Shiyar, who was also on a visit to Goa as a tourist. The duo met on a flight, and befreinded.

In Rajasthan's Alwar district, a Muslim was thrashed to death, and two others were injured. According to sources, the trio were allegedly chopping wood illegally. While they were leaving, the locals along with the forest department officials stopped them and thrashed them. Amid the 'inferiority complex' a husband strangulated his wife to death, in front of their two children. The accused, a 37-year-old businessman committed the crime in his SUV and was arrested by the police, out on patrolling. The accused allegedly was insecure about his wife's followers on Instagram, especially when he is blocked on her account. He believed that she might have an affair with some of her followers.
