India To Bring 15 Medals & 5 Golds From Tokyo Paralympics: Gursharan Singh

India will perform its best in Tokyo Paralympics, aiming to bring at least 15 medals and five gold medals, said India’s Chef-de-Mission Gursharan Singh. India has already bagged 12 medals and four gold medals so far. Reportedly, India has featured the largest chance of introducing 54 athletes in nine different sports namely Para Archery, Para Athletics, Para Badminton, and others. India is having medal hopes from Para Javelin throwers.

Bronze Medalist Seems Happier Than Silver Medal Winner: Research

It is often observed that there is a lack of joy and prosperity in the face of silver medallists in the Olympic Games than bronze medallists. A 1995 research paper published by psychologists Victoria Medvec, Thomas Gilovich, and Scott F Madey has found out why. The report claimed that the tendency of "counterfactual thinking" and psychology of "coming close" in human beings leads to such circumstances.

Tokyo Olympics: 2 Athletes Test Covid Positive In Olympics Village

According to the officials, two athletes have tested Covid positive in the Tokyo Olympic village, just two days ahead of Tokyo Olympics 2020. The onset of the Olympics is already spreading a word of concern owing to the surge in Covid-19 cases in Japan. The Tokyo Olympic Village intends to accommodate 6,700 athletes and officials. The Olympics will happen inside the closed doors to curb the spread of Coronavirus.

Tokyo Olympics: IOC Ease Ban Over Athlete's Freedom Of Expression

Easing the abiding ban on political protests during the Olympic Games, athletes can now “express their views” in Tokyo 2020. After releasing new guidelines on June 2, IOC stated that athletes can now express their views against racial injustice, speak to the media, and wear clothes expressing their political views after and before the game. However, statements during games at Olympic village or victory ceremonies, are off the list.

SAI Allows Non-residential Athletes To Train At NCOEs

SAI Releases SOPs for Covid-postive Tested Athletes

The Sports Authority of India, on October 3, issued standard operating procedure (SOP) for high-performance athletes who had tested positive for COVID-19.
