Michael Jordan's 1984 Nike Shoes Auctioned For $1,472,000

Michael Jordan's 37-year-old Nike Air Ships was auctioned by Sotheby's in Las Vegas. The pair of 1984 shoes were reported be bought at $1,472,000 by collector, Nick Fiorella on October 24. The red and white sneakers were used by Michael Jordan during his first ever season with the Chicago Bulls. Furthermore, the shoes gained popularity after Jordan started wearing it.

Former Miss America Marilyn Van Derbur Auctions Her Crown

Miss America 1958, Marilyn Van Derbur has put her winning crown for auction at Heritage Auctions to raise money for teachers in Colorado. Reportedly, the bidding of the crown starts at $20,000. Additionally, she's also auctioning a 'crown motif' bracelet. Notably, this is the first time that Miss America is auctioning her crown. ''It's one of my most prized possessions," said Van Derbur.

Muhammad Ali's Drawings To Be Auctioned Next Week In New York

The drawings of late Muhammad Ali, a prominent boxer, are set to be auctioned in New York next week. The collection of the drawings include cartoon-style art, some reflect Ali in the ring and some are even signed. A painting called "sting like a Bee" drawn by Ali in 1978 during the filming of "Freedom Road", may fetch $40,000-$60,000. Reportedly, no one knew Ali was an artist too.

100s Of Gold Coins Worth $1.2 Million Discovered In Walls Of French Chateau

At an auction on September 29, hundreds of gold coins discovered in walls of an isolated French chateau brought more than one million euros ($1.2 million). When stonemasons were renovating a house in Quimper in western Brittany, they unearthed 239 gold coins made before the French Revolution. The family retained four coins as souvenirs and auctioned the rest. For an extraordinarily rare double Louis d'Or, bidding started at 8,000 euros.

SC To Auction Amrapali Flats If Buyer Does Not Claim Ownership

The Supreme Court on August 13 was informed that if 9,583 home buyers of the Amrapali group fail to claim ownership, the flats will be subjected to an auction. Reportedly, ''one final opportunity'' will be awarded to claim ownership within the period of 15 days. On failing to do so, the court will cancel the allotment, auction the flats and use the money to build the unfinished projects.

After a six-day auction on eBay, a single piece of McDonald's BTS meal chicken nugget was sold for $99,997. The chicken nugget, which was posted up for auction on May 28, was said to have an uncanny resemblance to an 'Among Us' game character. Interestingly, the bid started at just $0.99 after which it shot up. This is said to be one of the biggest bid related to BTS.

Issac Newton's Handwritten 'Principia' Papers To Be Auctioned

Father of calculus and gravity's discoverer Issac Newton's handwritten notes, which are revisions to his masterwork "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy", will be up for auction in London on July 8. As per auction company Christie's, Newton's work could fetch as much as $1.3 million. The book, published in 1687, contain laws of gravitation and motion, and its first edition was auctioned for $3.7 million in 2016.

Kanye West's 2008 Grammy Sneakers Sold For Over Rs 13 Crore

American rapper Kanye West's sneakers, which he worn during his performance in 2008 Grammy Awards, were sold for over Rs 13 crore ($1.8 million). Auctioned in a private sale on April 26, the Nike prototype was acquired by sneaker investment marketplace ‘RARES', making it the most expensive shoe ever sold. The sneakers were reportedly designed by West and Mark Smith and are made of soft leather with detailed perforation.

Unopened Copy of Super Mario Game Auctioned at $6,60,000

A 35-year-old unopened copy of Nintendo's Super Mario Bros clocked a price tag of whopping $6,60,000 in a recently held auction in Dallas by Heritage Auctions. Interestingly, it was bought as a Christmas gift in 1986, the owner left it in a drawer and forgot about it. The game was recovered from an unattended drawer until 2021. The same version of the game was sold at $ 114,000 last year.
