Karnataka ACB Raids Govt Officials Over Corruption Charges

Kerala Police Arrests Couple With 1.95 Kg Of MDMA: Kannur

The Kerala police have arrested a couple with 1.95 kg of MDMA worth Rs 1.5 crores from Kannur plaza junction, on March 7. The accused have been identified as Balkis and her husband Afzal from Muzhappilangad. Besides MDMA, the police recovered 67 grams brown sugar, and 7.5 grams of opium, wrapped in a cloth and were brought from Bengaluru in a bus. Furthermore, an investigation is underway.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Park To Be Set Up In Bengaluru, Says CM Bommai

The Karnataka state government on March 4, proposed to set up a 350 acre park to increase the area of greenery in the state. This was announced during the discussion of 2022-23 state budget in the legislative assembly. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who also sees the Finance portfolio, announced that the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Park will be installed in the Jarakabande area of Yelahanka.

Veteran Kannada Actor Kala Tapasvi Rajesh Passes Away At 89 

Kannada Film Industry actor Kala Tapasvi Rajesh died on February 19, at a private hospital in Bengaluru. As per reports, he was hospitalised due to age-related ailments about a week ago. Born in Bangalore on April 15, 1932, Rajesh had acted in more than 150 films as a lead actor in the 60s and 70s. Notably, his final rites will be performed at the Vidyaranyapura residence in Bangalore.

Bengaluru Man Arrested For Stealing Police Jeep To Fulfil Desire

A 45-year-old Bengaluru man, on February 5, has been arrested for stealing police jeep. Notably, Nagappa Hadapad stole the jeep to fulfil his desire to drive a police jeep, which was parked outside Annigeri police station, unattended. He drove for over 110 km and was sleeping when people noticed him and informed nearby Dharwad police. The jeep has been handed over to Annigeri police and a case has been registered.

Man Throws Boiling Oil On Wife & Daughter: Bengaluru

In a spine-chilling incident, a Thomas (38) threw boiling cooking oil on his wife and 13-year-old daughter, in Bengaluru. The accused fled soon after some neighbors intervened. As per reports, He heated some cooking oil in the kitchen and assaulted his wife with a wooden piece. As she fell unconscious, he poured the oil on her. Nancy rushed to her mother’s rescue and Thomas poured oil on her as well.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction To Be Held In Bengaluru; Final List Includes 590 Players

Final list of IPL players including 370 national players and 220 international players were listed, on February 1. Of all, 48 players are the highest paid with a bracket of Rs 2 crore, 20 players in bracket of Rs 1.5 crore and 34 players in Rs 1 crore. Delivery Startup Dunzo Raises $240 Mn Funding; Reliance Retail Tops

Dunzo, a Bengaluru-based hyperlocal delivery startup, said that it raised $240 million in the latest round of funding. Reportedly, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Retail topped among the investors by acquiring a 25.8% stake in the startup. Reportedly, the funding will help it to ramp its game against competitors. ''Dunzo is planning an initial public offering (IPO) in the next three years,'' informed Kabir Biswas, co-founder, and CEO of Dunzo.

Karnataka Govt Imposes Weekend Curfew Across State

In view of the rising COVID-19 cases, the Karnataka government imposed a weekend curfew across the state, starting from January 5, at 10 am for the next two weeks. It'll start at 10 pm on Friday night and will end at 6 am on Monday. Reportedly, the physical classes for students till class 9 will be closed in Bengaluru. Mall, theatres, and gyms can only operate at 50% capacity.
