Mizoram: Firecrackers To be Strictly Prohibited During Christmas & New Year's Eve

The Mizoram Cabinet has planned to prohibit use of firecrackers on the eve of Christmas and New Year, in-order to minimise the emission levels that could intensify COVID-19 and respiratory issues. A ban on sky lanterns, toy guns and other pyrotechnics has been imposed after the meeting held on November 24, hosted by Home Minister Lachamliana. There are 452 active Covid-19 cases in the province out of 3,710.
