'Bulli Bai' & 'Sulli Deals' Accused Get Bail On Humanitarian Grounds

A Delhi court granted bail to Niraj Bishnoi, accused in 'Bulli Bai' case and Omkareshwar Thakur, creator of 'Sulli Deals' app, on March 28. The court said, they are first time offenders and jail term would affect their future. However, the court imposed strict bail conditions like, accused can't leave India, no tampering of evidences, threatening victims, need to provide personal details and appear before court on every hearing.

Delhi Court Dismisses Bail Plea Of JNU Student Umar Khalid: Delhi Riots

Accused in Delhi 2020 riots, Umar Khalid's bail has been dismissed by Delhi Court. As per ANI, the court bench on March 24, rejected the bail plea, based on the arguments and evidences produced by SPP Amit Prasad, against JNU Student Khalid. Furthermore, Khalid allegedly disobeyed the court's guidelines of bail and failed to file a counter reply. Notably, Khalid was arrested under UAPA in September, 2020.

Umar Khalid's Bail Plea Deferred Once Again: Delhi Riots

Delhi court hearing the bail plea of JNU student leader Umar Khalid in the Delhi violence case, deferred pronouncement of the order till March 23. Special Public Prosecutor Amid Prasad stated that adequate evidence is available against Khalid, including his chats. Umar Khalid was arrested on September 13, 2020 as a primary suspect in the northeast Delhi riots case which took the lives of 53 people and left hundreds injured.

Delhi Court Sentences Imprisonment To Culprit Dinesh Yadav In 2020 Delhi Riots

A Delhi court, on January 20, sentenced five year imprisonment to Dinesh Yadav, the first convict in 2020 Delhi Riot case and imposed a fine of Rs 12,000. Yadav's advocate Shikha Garg said, a detailed order on the sentencing against Yadav, who was an active member of the Delhi riot is awaited. Notably, Dinesh was convicted last month for robbing and burning down the house of a 73-year-old woman.

Man Shouts 'Tarikh-Par-Tarikh'; Creates Ruckus In Delhi Court

Delhi police have arrested a man named Rakesh who has reportedly created ruckus and broke computers and furniture in Delhi's Kakardooma court shouting actor Sunny Deol's iconic dialogue ''Tarikh-par-Tarikh'' on July 17. Purportedly, Rakesh was annoyed because of several adjournments regarding his matter since 2016 by the court, resulting in dismay. However, he was presented before a magistrate and sent into judicial custody.

Delhi Court Rejects Wrestler Sushil Kumar's Request Of Special Diet 

A Delhi Court on June 9 rejected wrestler Sushil Kumar's request of getting a special diet and supplements in the jail. Terming the demands as "desires and wishes" and not necessities, the Court stated, "The law should be equal and should be equally administered." Arrested for allegedly murdering a fellow wrestler, Sushil had demanded a special diet in the jail, stating that he was preparing for competitions.

Wrestler Sushil Kumar's Plea For Bail In Murder Case Rejected

Wrestler Sushil Kumar's plea for an anticipatory bail has been rejected by a Delhi Court on May 18. Refusing the bail, the court said the accusations against the Olympian, charged for the murder of a wrestler after a brawl, are of serious nature. It also observed that Kumar prima facie seems as the main conspirator. Earlier, Sushil Kumar had filed for the bail on May 17, citing a biased investigation.

Delhi Court Rejects Bail To Accused In IB Staffer's Murder Case

A Delhi Court has rejected the bail appeal of an accused in IB staffer's murder case. The murder of Ankit Sharma had taken place during the 2020 Delhi riots. Rejecting the bail, the court on May 6 stated "there is enough material on record" which proves that the accused was a part of the "riotous mob". The accused was arrested in 2020 from Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi Court Grants Bail To Activist Umar Khalid Under Delhi Riot Case

The Delhi Court has granted bail on April 15, to ex-JNU student and activist Umar Khalid under a riot case in Delhi. According to Delhi crime branch, Khalid, a 33-year-old was with a part of group that organised meeting at Shaheen Bagh few weeks before the riots. The court said, "Khalid cannot be permitted to remain behind bars on the basis of such a sketchy material against him."
