Three out of the six nuclear attack submarines are being 'Made In India' up to 95 percent. However, this would provide a big boost to the domestic defence sector including both private and public sector, said a government official. Reportedly, a proposal worth around Rs 50,000 crore has been requested to build three nuclear submarines by the DRDO in Visakhapatnam. Moreover, planners are confident of indigenously building the submarines.

Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Dr Harsh Vardhan on May 17 launched the first batch of anti-COVID drug 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG). On the instructions of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has supplied 150 jumbo liquid oxygen cylinders to Uttar Pradesh government.
