DRDO Test Fires Missile Based On Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet Tech
The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully conducted a flight demonstration based on Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) technology on March 5. The missile fired off from Integrated Test Range in Odisha's Chandipur had all its subsystems, including the booster motor and nozzle-less motor. DRDO's feat of successful handling and execution of SFDR technology is expected to provide India with a thrust in technological advancements to build long-range air-to-air missiles. Moreover, many new technologies were proven, besides testing SDFR and the missiles objectives were concluded successfully after data monitoring. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and DRDO Chairman Dr G Satheesh Reddy have congratulated the DRDO scientists and the Indian Air Force for harnessing the SFDR technology, which only a handful of countries currently possess.
