Dubai has opened the Museum of the Future, which is being called "the most beautiful building in the world". Reportedly, the museum will take visitors to the future, as far as the year 2071, and has been designed by 'Killa Design'. "The Museum of the Future is a living museum," said Mohammed Al Gergawi, DFF, Chairman. The seven-storey museum was inaugurated by PM Sheikh Mohammed and can accommodate 1000 people. 

Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism on February 5, said, Dubai had welcomed 7.28 million international overnight visitors which is 32% year-on-year growth in 2021. Around 910,000 travelers visited from India. In the fourth quarter of 2021, Dubai surpassed 3.4 million visitors. Dubai Shopping Festival's 27th edition "kickstarted" on December 15. The annual retail fair is a treat to the people, who will witness performances, exhibitions, light shows at Burj Khalifa and many other events in the next 45 days. The event was launched to boost local traders, which has now become an Internationally acclaimed retail fair at various shopping areas in Dubai. The grand event will continue till January 29, 2022.

The United Arab Emirates made a major change in its system by declaring its workweek from Monday to Friday, making it one of the few places in the middle east to follow Western hours. It'll come into effect from January 1, 2022. The country currently has a Sunday to Thursday working week. Besides, the government employees will work half-day on Friday, a traditional Muslim holy day in Islam. 

Amid the scare of Omicron strain, three Indian badminton players Priyansh Khushwani, Naren S Iyer, and Revati Devasthale are stranded in Botswana after commercial flights out of the country were banned.
