Punjab Offers Job To Kin Of Farmers Who Died During Ongoing Stir
Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has promised a government job to a kin of the Punjab farmers who died during the ongoing protest. The CM on January 22 announced the decision during a Facebook live #AskCaptain session, where he also claimed that 76 protesting Punjab farmers have died till now. Calling the Centre's refusal to repeal the farm laws as "inhuman", he lashed out at the Shiromani Akali Dal and AAP for spreading lies.

Govt Is Just Giving Empty Promises: Anna Hazare Over Farm Bills
Activist Anna Hazare has warned to protest for one last time, if the farm bills are not revoked by the end of January 2021. Hazare said, "The government is just giving empty promises due to which I do not have any trust left". Moreover, he demanded the implementation of MS Swaminathan committee’s recommendations. 60-Year-Old Man Travels 1000 Km From Bihar To Join Farmers' Protest
A 60-year-old man Satyadev Manjhi had cycled from Bihar's Siwan to join the farmers' protest in Tikri at the Delhi-Haryana border. As the protests of agitating farmers have entered the 23rd day in Delhi, Satyadev had reached the protest on December 17. Reportedly, he had travelled a distance of 1000 Km in about 11 days. Satyadev said, "I urge the government to take back the three farm laws."

Sikh Priest Commits Suicide Over Misery Of Protesting Farmers
In a first casualty that can be linked to the ongoing farmers' protest, a Haryana-based Sikh priest shot himself on December 16. The priest, Sant Ram Singh, took this drastic step near Delhi's Singhu border and cited the farmers' misery as reason. "I'm unable to witness the pain of the farmers. I can't bear this sadness," he wrote in his suicide letter. He added that his suicide was a voice against the government's oppression.
