Australian Govt Levy Fines Over Deputy PM For Not Wearing Mask

Australia’s Deputy PM on June 29 was fined for not wearing the face mask and failing to follow the COVID-19 protocols. However, the leader Barnaby Joyce was witnessed paying for fuel without a mask by a member of the public on June 28. Later, Joyce was fined AUS $ 200 for breaching the protocols. ''Fuelled the car up with fuel...$200 it cost me because I didn't wear a mask... that's life,'' said Joyce.

HDFC Fined Rs 10 Cr Over Indulgence In Non-Financial Businesses

The HDFC Bank has been slapped with a monetary penalty of Rs 10 crore by the RBI for alleged irregularities in its vehicle loan division. As per reports, the bank was involved in non-financial businesses as it forcibly sold vehicle-tracking device to customers for four years, causing a breach of the Banking Regulations Act. The matter came into light after a whistleblower made a complaint in this regard in 2020.

KKR Captain Morgan Faces Rs 12 Lakh Fine For Slow Over Rate

Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Eoin Morgan has been fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate in their match against Chennai Super Kings on April 22. According to the IPL's official statement, "It was his [Morgan's] team's first offence of the season under the IPL's code of conduct relating to minimum over rate offences". It also stated that Morgan would be banned for one match if the code is violated thrice.

Rs 5-crore Fine On NDTV For Hiding Crucial Financial Details

Rajasthan: Weddings With Over 100 Attendees To Be Fined Rs 25,000

After witnessing a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases, the Rajasthan government has decided to impose a fine of Rs 25,000 if the number of people attending a wedding crosses 100. It stated the wedding organisers' must ensure that number of attendees does not go beyond 100. Earlier, the government increased the amount of fine for not wearing masks from Rs 200 to Rs 500, while imposing a nigh-curfew in eight districts.
