Wing Commander Harshit Sinha Dies In MiG-21 Crash: Rajasthan

Wing Commander Harshit Sinha of the Indian Air force (IAF) died in the MiG-21 crash in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer, on December 24. After the incident, IAF confirmed the news saying a MiG-21 aircraft met with a flying accident during a training sortie at 8:30 pm. "We deep sorrow, IAF conveys the sad demise of Wing Commander Harshit Sinha in the flying accident and stands firmly with his family,'' tweeted IAF.

Captain Varun Singh, Lone Survivor Of TN IAF Chopper Crash Incident Passes Away

Captain Varun Singh of the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the lone survivor of the Tamil Nadu Chopper crash, died on December 15. He succumbed to injuries at a private hospital in Bengaluru, Karnataka. "IAF is deeply saddened to inform the passing away of brave heart captain Varun Singh," tweeted the IAF. On December 8, IAF Chopper crashed in Tamil Nadu, killing General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others.

CM Yogi Adityanath Meets Chauhan's Family, Who Died In TN Crash

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, on December 10, met with the family of Prithvi Singh Chauhan, the Wing Commander of the IAF.  As per reports, he was one of the personnel who died in the recent IAF chopper crash along with General Bipin Rawat. However, Yogi's Government has provided a job assurance to his family, Rs 50 lakh compensation, and promised to name an Institute after Commander Prithvi Singh.

IAF Recovers Critical Equipment Of Mi-17V5 Helicopter From Chopper Crash Site

Indian Air Force on December 9, retrieved critical equipment of the Mi-17V5 helicopter that crashed in Tamil Nadu on December 8. The Flight Data Recorder and the Cockpit Voice Recorder of the chopper have been recovered. CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others lost their lives in the military helicopter crash. Rajnath Singh stated that the inquiry of the case will be led by Air Marshal Manavendra Singh.

Rajnath Singh Briefs Parliament Over Tamil Nadu Chopper Crash Incident

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Parliament over Tamil Nadu chopper crash incident, on December 9. He paid tribute to those who died in the incident including Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others.  The mortal remains of the victims will be brought to Delhi, said Rajnath Singh. He added that the last rites of the victims will be conducted with military honours.

Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others died in a plane crash in Tamil Nadu, on December 8. After hours of search operation, the Indian Air Force (IAF) confirmed the news. "With deep regret it has now been ascertained that Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs Madhulika Rawat and 11 others on board have died in the unfortunate accident," said IAF.

Tyre Of Mirage 2000 Fighter Plane Stolen From Truck In Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh police have filed a case against unidentified miscreants after a tyre of the Indian Air Force's (IAF) Mirage 2000 Fighter jet was stolen from a truck in Lucknow. The incident took place on November 27, as the truck was carrying the consignment to Jodhpur airbase from Bakshi-Ka-Talab airbase. The FIR has been filed at Ashiyana Police Station in Lucknow. Reportedly, Lucknow police have begun the investigation process.

About six Rafale jets will arrive in India in December 2021 - January 2022. The fighter jets from France's Istres Le Tube airbase will land in Ambala air base in the next 2 months. Govt Appoints Air Marshal VR Chaudhari As The Next IAF Chief

The Indian government on September 21 announced that Air Marshal VR Chaudhari will be the next Chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF). Chaudhari will take charge after the retirement of RKS Bhadauria on September 30. Currently, VK Chaudhari, the awardee of Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishish Seva Medal, and Vayu Sena Medal, has been serving as the Vice Chief of Air Staff. He's in IAF since 1982.
