In Karantaka's Bangalore, three persons have been arrested for allegedly vandalising Tipu Sultan posters put on display to celebrate India's 75th Independence Day. Bangalore's Kempegowda International Airport recieved a bomb threat via letter, which was found in the lavatory of a flight. However, after thorough search, it was concluded that the search was nothing but a hoax. The letter warned that a bomb had been planted, and left all the officials in panic mode. The letter read, "Don't land. There is a bomb on this plane".

A Karnataka police official stated that six persons have lost their lives due to landslides in Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada districts. In Uttara Kannada district, four members of a family were killed after a hill collapsed on their house. In another heart-wrenching incident in Dakshina Kannada, a hill collapsed on a house, killing two sisters, whose mortal remains were found holding hands together.
