IMD Issues Red Alert, Predicts Heavy Rainfall In Isolated Regions Of MP
Amid heavy rains in many parts of Madhya Pradesh, schools are being closed in the low lying regions, including state capital Bhopal. On August 22, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued a red alert and predicted heavy-to-very-heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places of MP. Moreover, due to the rain situation, people of the state are suffering from water logging situations, with traffic issues.

Bomb Goes Off In Madhya Pradesh's Indore; 12-Year-Old Dead, 15 Others Injured
A bomb went off in Berchha area of Mhow in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district, on August 14. The incident has left a 12-year-old dead and 15 others injured. The incident occurred when Vaibhav, a 12-year-old boy hurled a bomb, which is used in the Army's Berchha firing range, into a crowd, following an internal conflict. IMD Issues Heavy To Very Heavy Rain Alert In Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a heavy to very heavy rainfall alert for states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. On August 10, Wednesday, a depression, lay above Odisha, which will cause heavy to very heavy rainfall in low-lying isolated regions of Indian states. Besides the aforementioned states, regions of Tamil Nadu, Nalgonda and Karnataka are also on alert for the rainfall in the states.

Mirchi Baba Arrested From Hotel On Rape Charges: Madhya Pradesh
In Madhya Pradesh, police arrested Mahamandaleshwar Niranjani Akhada and Spiritual Guru Vairagyanand Giri Maharaj popular as Mirchi Baba on rape charges. On August 9, police informed that Mirchi Baba was arrested in a joint operation by Bhopal Police and Gwalior Crime Branch, from a hotel, after an elderly woman filed an FIR against him. As per the victim, Baba allegedly raped her by feeding her intoxicating food items.

Central Govt Due To Revise DA, Hike Expected By 3-4 Percent
The Union Cabinet is due to announce its decision on the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the second half of the year 2022. EOW Conducts Raid At Govt Clerk's Residence In MP's Bhopal: Seizes Cash, Gold, Etc
In Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) conducted raids at the residence of a senior clerk at the Education Department on August 3. As per the officials, the EOW seized a large amount of gold, cash and property-related documents from his possession. The raid has come after EOW recived constant complaints about one Hero Keswani, senior clerk of in the Medical Education Department, in a disproportionate assets case.

World's Largest Floating Power Plant To Be Built In Madhya Pradesh
In Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa, a floating solar power plant will reportedly be built, which is capable of producing 600 MegaWatts of power, informed officials on August 3. The project is estimated to be worth Rs 3,000 crore, and will be the world's largest floating solar power plant. The dam will be built on the Omkareshwar dam on the Narmada river.

Man Out On Bail In 2020 Rape Case Allegedly Rape Same Woman
Out on bail in rape charges in a 2020 rape case, a man allegedly raped the same victim (19) again with the point of a knife. On August 3, the Madhya Pradesh Police confirmed the arrest and said the man who was released recently went to the victim's house in Jabalpur district, raped and threatened her to withdraw the complaint. The victim registered a complaint and search is underway.

Jabalpur Hospital Fire: FIR Filed Against Hospital Manager & 4 Doctors For 'Negligence'
An FIR has been filed against five persons including four doctors, in connection to Jabalpur fire incident in Madhya Pradesh. The manager of New Life multi-speciality hospital and four other doctors have been booked under IPC sections 304, 308 and 334. The provisions pertain to causing hurt and death due to negligence. The incident left at least nine dead, after which, the hospital has been sealed.
