TN Polls: MNM Founder Kamal Haasan To Contest From Coimbatore South
Tamil Nadu's nascent Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) will field its chief actor-politician Kamal Haasan in the Coimbatore South assembly constituency for the state elections. Earlier, on March 10, the party had revealed its first list of 70 candidates while announcing plans to contest 154 of the total 234 seats. Further, the party formed a coalition with actor Sarath Kumar's All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi and the India Jananayaka Katchi.

Kamal Haasan Objects To Centre's Move Of New Parliament Construction
Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party chief Kamal Haasan called out PM Modi on December 13 regarding the new parliament construction. In his tweet, Haasan questioned the need for the Rs 1,000 crore building "when half of India is hungry". Moreover, he also highlighted the "loss of livelihoods" during the coronavirus pandemic. Kamal's digs at PM Modi came ahead of his campaign for Tamil Nadu Assembly Polls in 2021.
