Tamil Nadu Govt Launches New Initiative To Help Road Accident Victims
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin launched a unique scheme for the citizens of the state. On March 21, MK Stalin said, "People who help those involved in a road accident and take them to a medical care facility within the golden hour period will be rewarded with a certificate of appreciation and a Rs 5,000 cash reward". This is similar to the previous scheme, providing free-medical treatment to road-accident victims.

Tamil Nadu Announces COVID-19 Relaxation, Allows Resuming Primary Classes

Tamil Nadu Govt Cancels Board Examination For Class 12
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on June 5 announced the cancellation of board exams for class 12 owing to the ongoing second wave of COVID-19 and the probability of the third wave. He also said that the government will soon create a committee to form a mark-awarding system. Besides, CM Stalin requested PM Narendra Modi to cancel "all national level entrance examinations like NEET".

Tamil Nadu Govt Extends Lockdown By Another Week Till May 31
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on May 22 announced the extension of complete lockdown by one more week. Following the steep increase in the COVID-19 death rate, the government extended the lockdown ending on May 24. However, the new guideline will allow shops to open till 9 pm on May 23 to stock up essentials. Allowing banks, private offices, the new order mandated e-registration for inter-state medical travel.

TN CM Stalin Announces Rs 25L Compensation For Kin Of 43 Deceased Medicos
Newly-sworn Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has announced an assistance of Rs 25 lakh for the families of 43 deceased frontline workers who fell victims to COVID-19. Additionally, the cabinet, on May 12, announced cash incentives of Rs 30,000 for doctors and nurses, Rs 20,000 for trainee doctors and PG doctors. Other workers, like those operating ambulance and CT scans, will get cash assistance of Rs 15,000 for April-June.

TN Adds Pvt Hospitals For COVID Care Under State Health Insurance Scheme
Hours after sworn in as Tamil Nadu CM, MK Stalin on May 7 announced to provide free COVID-19 treatment in private hospitals under the CM’s Comprehensive Health insurance scheme. Besides allocating COVID-19 financial relief of Rs 4000 per family, CM Stalin decreased milk prices by Rs 3/litre. Stalin also introduced free travel for women, students and professionals in state owned buses from May 8.
