In Gujarat's Dahod district. a goods train derailed near Mangal Mahudi railway station causing disruption in the rail traffic movement, on July 18. Railways Announces High Level Inquiry In Bihar-Madhubani Train Fire Accident
The Indian Railways announced to conduct an inquiry in the Bihar's Madhubani train accident, on February 19. At 9:13 am, Swatantra Senani Express's coach caught fire, which was doused by 9:50 am. However, no passengers were harmed during the incident, informed ECR. Later, the Rail Department called for an inquiry to know the details and cause of the incident, ensuring no such incidents happen in future.

Uttar Pradesh: Train Crashes Into Vehicles At Crossing, Kills 5
At least 5 people were reported dead after a train crashed into three vehicles at a manned level crossing on April 22 in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district. Reportedly, the crossing gate was open which led to the Lucknow-Chandigarh Super Fast Express run over a mini truck with the victims inside. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences and offered Rs 2 lakh compensation to the deceased.

Railways Orders Not To Charge Electronic Devices On Trains At Night
The Railway Board has instructed all zones to bar passengers from charging electronic devices on trains from 11PM to 5AM. The step has been taken as a precautionary measure against the increased cases of fire incidents on trains due to overcharging of electronic devices. The board has also issued guidelines against smoking and carrying inflammable items on the train. Notably, a similar order was issued in 2014 also.

Railway Ministry Announced 40 Cloned Trains to Start from September 21
On September 15, Indian Railways announced 40 clonned trains which will start its operations from September 21. This service will be available only for the waitlisted passengers, in the high demand routes with limited halts. The reservation for the cloned trains will be done within 10 days of journey. Out of 40 trains, 38 will be charged similar as 'Humsafar Express' rates, while two as 'Janshatabdi Express' rates.
