20 Year Old Inmate Of Tihar Jail Dies Over Scuffle: New Delhi

In Tihar Jail, Samir Khan, a 20-year-old inmate died following a scuffle with another prisoner inside a barrack, confirmed officials on August 24. Khan was in jail number 5, convicted in a robbery case, and received a head injury after being involved in a physical fight with another inmate. He was rushed to Din Dayal Upadhyay hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police registered a case for investigation.

Undertrial Prisoner Died In Moradabad Jail, Investigation Launched

 In Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district, an undertrial prisoner identified as Horilal Valmiki (30) died while in police custody.  As per PTI, he was arrested in a case of sexual harassment of women case and died of illness on April 29, confirmed, Sambhal SP Chakresh Mishra. Furthermore, a postmortem report was conducted, but it didn't clear the cause of death. After the incident, the judicial officer launched an investigation.

Myanmar: Suu Kyi Appears In Court In Person For 1st Time Since Coup

Aung San Suu Kyi was produced before the court in person for the first time on May 24. Previously taken as a military prisoner, the ousted Myanmar leader was only allowed to contact her defending team via video calls. The hearing was focussed on the six charges she faced and two of them for violating COVID-19 norms during the election campaign, illegal use of walkie-talkies and unlicensed use of radio.

MP Jail Deptt's 1st Fuel Pump Employs Prisoners With Good Conduct

The Madhya Pradesh government has started a unique initiative under which the authorities of Indore's Central Jail will provide jobs to convicts with good conduct.
