India Records 15,786 COVID Cases; Recovery Stands At 98.16%

In the last 24 hours, 15,786 new Covid-19 cases were registered in India, which is 14% lower than the previous day's 18,454 cases. The recovery rate stands at 98.16% with 18,641 new recoveries in the past 24 hours. However, around 231 new deaths were also reported in the country. The active caseload reached the lowest in 232 days at 1,75,745. Besides, India has also completed 100 crore vaccine administration.

Kerala Reports 7,643 Fresh Cases, 10,488 Recoveries, 77 Deaths In 24 Hours

Kerala recorded 7,643 fresh cases and 77 deaths in the last 24 hours. On the brighter side, 10,488 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours, making the total number of recoveries at 47,60,781. There are 80,262 active cases in the state as of October 19, whereas, there are 1,83,118 active cases across India. Notably, India's recovery rate stands at 98.14 percent, the highest since the start of the pandemic.

India Sees 36,571 Fresh Cases In Last 24 Hours

India registered a fresh 36,751 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the data released by the Union Health Ministry. The country's total count now stands at 3,23,58,829. With 540 deaths, the total death count has risen to 4,33,589 along with 3,63,605 active cases. However, the recovery rate remains at 97.54% with 36,571 recoveries, the highest since March 2020.

Take Booster Dose After Second Covid Vaccine Dose: Cyrus Poonawalla

Union Health Ministry data on August 18 stated India has registered 35,178 new coronavirus cases totaling the tally up to 3,22,85,857. The death toll has reached 4,32,519 as 440 new deaths have occurred. Meanwhile, the national recovery rate has improved to 97.52% since March 2020. SII chairman Cyrus Poonawalla requested, "Who have completed the second dose, it is my request to take a booster dose after six months."

India Witnesses Lowest Single-day COVID-19 Fatalities In 98 Days

What could be called a less-negative news, India recorded just 580 COVID-19 fatalities on October 24, lowest in the past three months. Last time India had recorded lesser COVID-19 deaths only on July 18. Reportedly, the weekly death toll has also declined to half the numbers since mid- September. Besides, recovery rate in India is also at 89.9%. India registered highest singly-day COVID-19 deaths on September 15 with 1,275 fatalities.
