Siddaramaiah, the Congress leader, allegedly assaulted a man while being mobbed by supporters demanding an electoral ticket for a party MLA. In the viral video, Siddaramaiah was seen slapping a supporter of Harihar MLA S. Ramappa. The video was shared on Twitter by a BJP leader from Karnataka. The video has gained a lot of criticism for the Congress leader and is being ciruclated widely.

Karnataka Police Arrest 16 People In Association With 'Death Threat' To Siddaramaiah
Police reported on August 20 that sixteen individuals had been detained in connection with a death threat received by state Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah. "9 people have been arrested in Kushalnagar and 7 in Madikeri, all of whom will be produced before the magistrate court," stated the Kodagu Superintendent Capt Aiyappa MA. The arrests came after the Congress leader got death threats as a result of his statements against Veer Savarkar.
