Flight Operations Delayed At Srinagar Airport Amid Heavy Snowfall: J&K

Amid continuous heavy snowfall in Kashmir, all the flights have been delayed at Srinagar airport by reducing the visibility to 400m. "We will continuously update the status of flights," said Srinagar airport officials said. He further added snow clearing operations are underway on the runway and the apron. A snow control room has been set up by the Mechanical Engineering Department in J&K with modern machinery and expert staff.

Snow Control Room Installed In J&K's Srinagar; Snowfall To Be Monitored

A snow control room has been set up by the Mechanical Engineering Department in J&K's Srinagar. The snow control room will monitor the snow fall and be prepared in case of emergency calls due to snowstorms. Reportedly, the facility is well equipped with modern machinery and expert staff. "For now we have around 11-12 machines to clear snowfall, that are installed especially near hospitals," Chief Engineer Adbul Dar told ANI.

Srinagar's Tribal Boy Tufail Ahmad Clears NEET 2022: J&K

Tufail Ahmad a tribal boy of Mulnar Harwan in Srinagar has qualified for the NEET 2022. Talking about his struggle Ahmad said to ANI, there were no transport facilities in the village, I used to walk daily two kms. "We do not have a proper electricity supply and the mobile connectivity is limited," he added. However, Ahmad wants to become a doctor and provide medical help to the village people.

Terrorists arrested

2 Terrorists Associates Arrested By Security Forces: J&K

On February 19, two terrorists were arrested in a separate operation in Pulwama and Srinagar district by the security forces. Based on the intelligence input, a search operation was launched in the Rahmoo and Eidgah area where JeM and LeT/TRF associated terrorists were arrested with arms and ammunition. The terrorists have been identified as Irfan Yousuf Dar and Junaid Mushtaq. The case has been filed and an investigation is underway.

Srinagar Airport Asks Passengers Not To Come Too Early For Flights

Srinagar Airport Authority asked the passengers to arrive at the airport only up to three hours prior to the flight. The announcement has come after the authority realized, people are arriving at the airport 7-8 hours prior to their flights, which caused crowding. "Passengers are requested to come to the airport only three hours before the flight departure time," said Director, Srinagar Airport, Kuldeep Singh.

35 Flights Arrives At Srinagar After 2 Days Disruption

Following two days of disruption and cancellation of around 79 flights, 35 scheduled flights arrived at Srinagar International Airport on January 6.  The flights were landed after improvement in weather conditions. Fire Breaks Out At Dal Lake, Houseboat Association Demands Compensation: Srinagar

In a massive fire incident, which broke out in the morning of January 5 at Dal Lake, Srinagar,  two houseboats were damaged. The houseboats were named New Zealand, and Apollo Eleven, KNO reported. The incident reported a loss of approximately Rs 4 crores, for the reconstruction, said spokesman of the houseboat owners association. He appealed to the government and seeked compensation for the affected families in the incident.

NHM Paramedics Stage Protest Over Disengagement Of Services: J&K

The National Health Mission paramedics, who were engaged under the Emergency COVID Response Package on January 3, staged a protest at Srinagar Kashmir. They were demanding continuation of their services, as they were disengaged, despite the assurances of adjustment from authorities. The NHM paramedics raised pro-justice slogans, and appealed the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look personally into the matter and take action.
