Japan To Reopen Visa-Free Travel, Ending Some Of World’s Strictest COVID-19 Border Controls
Japan has announced to reopen visa-free travel for tourists in to the country, as COVID-19 recedes in the country. This marks some of world’s toughest border control being lifted. Visitors will now be welcomed to Japan after two years of pandemic isolation. With this, the tourism industry is expected to boom in the coming months. Just over half a million visited Japan in 2022, compared to 31.8 million in 2019.

China Resumes Air Travel After 2-year Covid Ban, No Word On Flight Services To India
Following a two-year prohibition due to the COVID-19 outbreak, China has resumed foreign flights. Even though Beijing relaxed a visa restriction on Indian professionals and their families last month, there has been no indication of the return of flight services to India. China is expediting processes for people entering the nation by decreasing quarantine time to 7 days in selected hotels, followed by a 3-day isolation period at home.

Saudi Arabia Removes Covid-19 Restrictions On Travel To India, Turkey, Ethiopia, Vietnam
The Saudi Ministry of Interior declared on June 20 that the Covid-19 travel restrictions for its residents had been removed. Turkey, Ethiopia, Vietnam, and India have all had their travel restrictions lifted. The decision comes a week after the Kingdom abandoned several preventative Covid-19 measures, including wearing face masks indoors and requiring confirmation of immunization to access most public locations.

Beijing Imposes New Curbs On Conferences Amid Covid-19 Outbreak
Beijing imposed new restrictions to deal with the deadly Covid-19 outbreak in the city. On May 31, the Chinese authorities announced new curbs on events and conferences in the Capital City of China. In a media briefing Pang Xinghuo, Vice-Director at the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control said, "Conferences and events should be held via video whenever possible, and the size of offline events should be minimised".

Srinagar Airport Asks Passengers Not To Come Too Early For Flights
Srinagar Airport Authority asked the passengers to arrive at the airport only up to three hours prior to the flight. The announcement has come after the authority realized, people are arriving at the airport 7-8 hours prior to their flights, which caused crowding. "Passengers are requested to come to the airport only three hours before the flight departure time," said Director, Srinagar Airport, Kuldeep Singh.

Delhi Govt Instructs Police To Take Strict Action Against Night Curfew Violators
Amid the rising cases of COVID-19 in the state, the Delhi government has instructed the police to take stringent action against violators of the restrictions imposed. The state has imposed a night curfew between 11pm and 5am. Also, new year parties and other celebrations are banned. Reportedly, police officials ard checking and questioning those who are seen on the road during the curfew hours.

West Bengal To Impose Strict Curbs If COVID Cases Surge: Mamata Banerjee
Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, while addressing a meeting at state secretariat Nabanna, stated that though the COVID-19 situation is under control, fresh curbs will be announced if the cases surge. "Though the situation remains under control, we should not lower our guards," said Banerjee. As per sources, the state has recorded six cases of Omicron so far.

New Zealand Plans To Ease COVID-19 Border Restrictions
New Zealand on October 28, announced that it would soon ease the Covid-induced restrictions for travellers which were imposed in march 2020. Travellers from the overseas who will be fully vaccinated will have to spend seven days in state quarantine facilities from November 14, said the government. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that the country will soon end all of its restrictions once 90% of the population gets vaccinated.
