Heavy Rain Causes Temporary Suspension Of Vaishno Devi Yatra

The yatra to Vaishno Devi temple atop Trikuta hills in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi region was momentarily halted on August 19 due to flash floods caused by heavy rain. Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, stated the situation was under control and that no casualties or damage had been reported. Disaster management teams and medical units are on standby to respond to any emergency.

3 CSIF Commanders Dismissed From Service Over Security Breach At NSA Doval's Residence

Amid security breach, three CISF commandos have been dismissed from service and two senior officers of its VIP security unit. Notably, a security breach was reported at the residence of National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval.  After the investigation, three CSIF officials were dismissed, said the central government officials. Furthermore, Ajit Doval is a 'Z plus' category protectee under the central VIP security list in India.

SAI Suspends Coach Accused Of Harassing Cyclist Sexually

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) suspended RK Sharma's contract on June 8 after a top Indian women cyclist accused him of sexual harassment. SAI stated that "prima facie, the case is established and the allegations of the athlete are found to be true." The Cycling Federation of India (CFI) acknowledged the complainant and the coach in a separate statement, saying it stands "with the complainant."

If Not Vaccinated, Paramilitary Troops Will Remain Unpaid: Pakistan

A group of Pakistani paramilitary troops from Balochistan Levies has been suspended without pay after they refused to get vaccinated. The decision comes after they ignored the repeated written warnings and verbal requests for vaccination. Moreover, the Pakistan government has advised nationwide employees to get vaccinated. However, the country has almost administered 16 million shots to date, with China supplying most of the vaccine.

Twitter India has permanently suspended actress Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account from its website on May 4. Reportedly, following the post Bengal election counting violence, Kangana made a provoking tweet by urging PM Narendra Modi to tame Mamata Banerjee using his ‘Virat roop’ from ‘early 2000s’.  Citing 'hateful conduct and abusive behavior' the microblogging site said 'you may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone.'
