Cash For Query Case, Mahua Moitra Seeks Time To Appear Before Ethics Panel

In cash for querry case, Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra demanded more time, and refused to appear before the Ethics Panel in the case. According to sources, TMC MP Mahua Moitra will not be appearing before the Lok Sabha's ethics panel on October 31 due to "pre-scheduled" constituency programmes in connection with the 'cash for query' case. She asked panel to give time till November 5, for appearance.

TMC Leader's Son Ram Kinkar Ram Dies In Accident, Police Launches Investigation

Trinamool Congress leader Ram Pyare Ram's son  Ram Kinkar Ram (38) was killed in a road accident in the city's Kidderpore area, confirmed police on August 28. The incident took place around 8:40 pm after a truck coming from the opposite direction fell sideways on the sedan of Ram while travelling through Babubazar. The police have registered a case and formed teams to nab truck's driver and helper, currently absconding.

TMC Leader Mukul Roy Resigns As PAC In West Bengal

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in West Bengal Assembly Chairman Mukul Roy submitted his resignation to Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee.  On June 27, the senior TMC leader and MLA Roy said, "My tenure (as PAC chairman) was for one year and it is about to end soon.  So I decided to resign." Notably, the speaker had appointed Roy as the PAC chairman in July last year.

Calcutta HC Takes Suo-Moto Case Over Birbhum Violence

The Calcutta HC registered a suo-moto case over recent Birbhum violent incident, on March 23. The HC will review the killing of eight people in Ramapuram, Birbhum, amid political controversy and alleged killing of TMC leader Bahadur Shaikh. Furthermore, the West Bengal Governor deplored a 3-page letter to CM Banerjee, suggesting it to be a political conspiracy behind the Birbhum Violence. Meanwhile HC Judge will review the matter at 2 pm.

8 Burnt To Death After TMC Leader's Murder: West Bengal

In West Bengal's Rampurhat village, 7-8 houses were set on fire, killing approximately 8 people. A mob allegedly set houses in Birbhum district on fire, hours after the murder of TMC leader Bahadur Shaikh. The TMC leader was allegedly murdered on the night of March 21. The political turmoil is believed to be the reason behind the killings. Furthermore, West Bengal police formed a SIT and started investigation.
