Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Assam and marked the first year of the Himanta Biswa Sarma's BJP-led Assam Government. Union Road & Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari arrived at the parliament in a hydrogen-powered car, on March 30. The action was to  emphasize on the need of renewable electric vehicles, especially when the nation is witnessing a rise in fuel prices. Gadkari said, soon India will be manufacturing green-hydrogen cars, and establish fuel stations, which will not only help environment and cars, but increase employment in India.

Union former P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram will get a new passport with 13-year passport validity. The Madras HC  bench led by Justice M Govindaraj asked the Regional Passport Authority (RPA) to issue the passport. He allowed a writ petition from Karti, dismissing petition ordered dated April 8. 2021 and August 24, 2021, of the RPA, which turned down Karti's plea for passport valid for 10 years.
