Common Man Trust, a not-profit orgranisation based in Varanasi, launched 'Beggars Corporation' to make Varanasi a beggar-free city by 2023. Ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly election, Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Varanasi on November 12. During his two-day visit, Shah will hold meetings to discuss the election strategy. He'll discuss the strategy with the office bearers of 98 districts, in-charges of all 403 Vidhan Sabhas, and regional presidents. Meanwhile, senior BJP leaders, including CM Yogi Adityanath will also be present at the meeting.

Dr. Subodh Singh, who lives in Varanasi, earned recognition in the world by performing 37,000 free cleft lip/palate surgeries on babies to date. His efforts also brought a smile back in the lives of 25,000 families. Reportedly, Singh's father died when he was just 13. The struggle in life inspired him to serve the poor. ''I think God made me a plastic surgeon...to serve a divine cause,'' said Dr. Singh. 

Varanasi divisional commissioner Deepak Agarwal said that the 75% work of the Kashi Vishwanath project, worth Rs 900 crore, has been completed and it'll be completed 100% by November. Reportedly, 24 buildings, part of the project of 5 lakh square feet, have been constructed so far. The project includes a virtual museum, a meditation platform, a library, a cafeteria, and a path from river Ganga to Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

On the birthday eve of PM Narendra Modi, BJP workers celebrated by lightening earthen lamps and cutting a 71kg laddu cake in Varanasi, Modi's Parliamentary constituency. The event was chaired by BJP MP Roopa Ganguly and Banaras Hindu University Vice-chancellor GC Tripathi, who launched a book titled "Kashi Sankalp". National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya joined and visually disabled children of Indore sang to wish PM Modi.
