Bengal BJP Urges EC To Deploy CAPF, Special Observers For Polls
Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, a BJP delegation has requested the Election Commission to deploy only Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to ensure "peaceful" polls. Requesting to appoint "special observers", the eight-member delegation urged to avoid deployment of police officers accused of political partnerships in the election duty. After the meeting, BJP’s Bhupender Yadav tweeted, "Mamata Banerjee government can't be allowed to hijack democratic processes and let violence go on.”
