China Slaps Citizen Journalist With 4-Yr Jail For Covering Wuhan COVID
Zhang Zhan, a Chinese citizen journalist, has been sentenced 4-year jail term for covering Wuhan's coronavirus outbreak and charged with allegedly spreading misinformation. She has also been accused of giving interviews to foreign media and sharing false information on Wuhan. The 37-year-old lawyer-turned-independent journalist was detained in May and has been on hunger strike for months. Zhang came under the scanner after her livestreams and news reports from Wuhan went viral on social media.
