Chinese Hackers Targeted To Block Telangana's Power Supply, Says Report

Reports revealed that Chinese hackers’ groups attempted to attack the Telangana State Load Dispatch Centre to cause the October 2020 power outage. However, upon receiving alert, the situation was quickly averted by the officials. Reportedly, the Central Electricity Authority recently informed the government that according to CERT-In reports, the TS Transco and TS Genco units were suspiciously attacked by Chinese malware. Later, the authorities removed the malware from 40 substations strengthening the firewall.
