Defence Ministry Plans to Enhance Army's Communication Network
The Defence Ministry has decided to improve the Army's communication network in border areas, and has signed an agreement with state-run ITI. Reportedly, the project, which is estimated to cost Rs 7,796 crore, will include the use of optical fibre network and satellite. The ministry opined this will "provide a major boost to the operational preparedness of the Indian Army." It stated the project will enhance communication coverage and responsiveness.
