Delhi Govt Bans Import Of Live Birds; Sends Samples For Testing
The Delhi Government on January 9 imposed restrictions on the import of live birds and introduced a 24-hour helpline. The announcement came in light of the bird flu outbreak across several Indian states. Though there are no confirmed reports of the flu in Delhi, the authorities have sent 104 samples for testing to Jalandhar as a precautionary measure. The decision was taken after over 100 inert crows were found Delhi’s Mayur Vihar.
