India Begins 2-Yr UNSC Member Term; Installs Tricolour At Council Office
Marking the beginning of a two-year non-permanent UNSC member tenure, TS Tirumurti, India’s representative to the UN, installed the Tricolour at the UNSC office on January 4. India has become the member for eighth time. Tirumurti said, being the largest democracy representing 1/6th of the humanity, India will promote multilateralism, equality, peace, development and security of all. Tirumurti also highlighted India’s plan in accordance with the notion of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”: The World Is one Family.
