India To Limit COVID Vaccine Export; Focus On Domestic Immunisation
In a bid to focus on the domestic immunisation drive, India will no longer expand exports of the COVID-19 vaccines. Though there is no ban on the supply of the vaccines to other countries, the Centre has planned to consider exports only after meeting domestic needs. Interestingly, the vaccine manufacturers have also hinted towards satiating the domestic demands first. Notably, India has supplied over 60 million doses of the vaccines to 76 countries so far.
