Face Masks Now Mandatory In Public Areas In Punjab Due To Increase In Covid Cases
The Punjab Government made masks essential across the state due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. The action follows the authorities' observation of a lack of Covid suitable behavior among the people. The Department of Home Affairs and Justice has made masks mandatory at all educational institutions, government and commercial workplaces, malls, indoor and outdoor gatherings, and so on (Punjab).

India Records 8,582 New Covid Cases, 44,513 Active Cases, 4 Deaths
According to statistics published on June 12 by the Union Health Ministry, India has recorded 8,582 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,32,22,017, with 44,513 active cases. With four deaths, the death toll reached 5,24,761. The active COVID-19 caseload increased by 4,143 cases in only 24 hours. Three of the four new deaths occurred in Kerala, while one occurred in Maharashtra.

Colombian Schools May No Longer Require The Usage Of Face Masks
Colombian schools that satisfy certain conditions will be exempted from wearing face masks in confined places beginning on May 16, according to the Ministry of Health, which announced the change on May 13. Only schools with 70 percent of students and teachers fully vaccinated will be able to lift the mandate. Schools must also have 40 percent of their staff have received a booster dose.

India Registers 3,805 New Covid-19 Cases, 22 Deaths In 24 Hours: MoHFW
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare India registered 3,805 new Covid-19 cases, 22 deaths, and 3,168 recoveries on May 8. The cases were confirmed after conducting 4,87,544 Covid-19 tests in India. With this, currently, India has 20,303 active cases. In addition, the daily positivity rate is 0.78%, the weekly positivity rate is 0.79%, and the recovery rate in the country is 98.74%.

According to the Health Ministry India got 3,205 new Covid19 cases in a single day, 24.8% higher than yesterday. Mizoram reports 44, Maharashtra's Thane got 5 new cases in last 24 hours. 31 Covid-related deaths and 2,802 recoveries are reported and 3,27,327 tests conducted in last 24 hours in the country. India's active COVID19 caseload currently stands at 19,509.

Schools To Reopen From March 7, Except for 7 Districts: Jharkhand
The Jharkhand Government announced to reopen schools from March 7 as the COVID-19 cases declined in the state. 281 Test COVID Positive At Karnataka's SDM College; Health Minister Issues Curbs
Karnataka's health minister, K Sudhakar, announced on November 27 that SDM College of Medical Sciences in the state's Dharwad district has become a Covid-19 cluster, with 281 people on campus testing positive. Schools and institutions within a 500-meter radius of SDM college have been closed and surrounding areas have sanitized. According to reports, eight ambulances at college are on standby, and visitors to the campus have been limited.

Russia Reports 34,690 New COVID-19 Cases In The Last 24 Hours
Russia Reported 34,690 covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours bringing a commutative up to 9,502,879 cases in the country, according to the federal response center. Moscow alone registered 3,929 and Saint Petersburg with 1,704 new COVID-19 cases. Moreover, the response centre reported 1,235 deaths, bringing the total death toll to 270,292. The rate of increase in the active cases lies at 0.37 per cent, according to the centre.
