India has reported 16,464 new cases of COVID-19 and 39 fatalities in the last 24 hours, on August 1. The daily positivity rate in the country stands at 6.01%, and weekly positivity rate at 4.80%. about 16,112 persons recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the total active caseload in the country to 1,43,989. India has administered over 203 crore cumulative doses of COVID vaccine.
