NDRF Goes 'Vocal For Local', Trains 'Desi' Dogs for Search, Rescue Operations
Inspired by 'Vocal for Local' campaign, National Disaster Response Force's (NDRF) dog squad is training 'stray dogs' for search-and-rescue operations. For first, four desi dogs, including two puppies, are adopted by NDRF’s 8th battalion from its Ghaziabad campus. Currently, NDRF uses well-trained German Shepherds and Labradors for the operations. Stray dogs' trainer Sandip mentioned that while they are agile and require less care, it becomes hard to contain them at times.
