NIOS To Introduce Gita, Ramayana In Curriculum Of 100 Madrassas
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is planning to introduce ancient Indian knowledge, Gita and Ramayana to 100 madrassas. Reportedly, a part of NIOS new curriculum in accordance with the NEP, it inculdes 15 new courses on 'Bharatiya Jnana Parampara' or Indian Knowledge Tradition. Including courses on Veda, yoga, vocations, Sanskrit and Maheswhara sutras, and focusing on grade 3, 5 and 8 student’s basic course, the scheme will be further extended to 500 madrassas.
