Poland: Idea Bank Owner Czarnecki Charged for Fraudulent Activities
Polish Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro on September 21 stated that the state prosecutors have filed a case against Idea Bank owner and billionaire Leszek Czarnecki for fraudulent activities. Czarnecki is accused of misleading clients while selling bonds. However, Czarnecki's lawyer denied the allegations and called them "ridiculous". The court said that it will review the matter next month. Reportedly, Czarnecki, if convicted, may end up serving 15 years in prison.
