Defending the shooting of the mother bear and its cub on a Russian submarine, Navy said it had no option after they climbed on the vessel which was docked off the Vilyuchinsk base in Russia. The navy responded to a video of the animal falling into waters after a bullet was fired went viral and was criticised by netizens. Conservationists said climate change is forcing bears to search for food inland rather than at sea.
