Scientists Discover Marine Life In -2°C Under Antarctica Ice Shelves
Researchers working in Antarctica have accidently discovered marine life living in -2°C, under the ice shelves. While the researchers have earlier found fish, worms and jellies, under ice-cover, this study for the first surfaced filter feeder species on the southeastern Weddle Sea. The filter feeder species are creatures that feed on straining suspended matter and food particles from water. Led by biogeographer Huw Griffiths, the team used a hole drilling method.
