UN To Release $ 100M Emergency Fund For Seven Countries Amid Famine
UNs Humanitarian Office is set to release $ 100 million ‘emergency fund’ for seven countries on the verge of famine. While releasing $80 Million for Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Congo, Nigeria, Sudan, and Yemen, it has earmarked $20 million for war-struck Ethiopia. According to the UN, the funds will be used to cater the most vulnerable, especially women, girls and differently-abled. Reportedly all these places have been affected by conflicts or extremist attacks.
